This review first appeared in the August 21, 1992 issue of the North County Blade-Citizen (now North County Times).

Kitaro, the Japanese New Age artist, moves closer to the mainstream with "Dream," his 13th album.

Featuring Yes vocalist Jon Anderson, "Dream" also features a sound close to what Yes, the pre-New Age new-age rock band, achieved in its early, most-creative years, especially 1974's "Relayer."

Unlike his own earlier years, which often resembled the Spartan beauty of a bonsai garden, "Dream" is at times lush – even orchestral – and always melodic.

Even those who don't like New Age music are likely to be entranced by Kitaro's latest release.
