Great harmonies from country duo
Calling their music "New Hillbilly," the Tennessee duo of The Brother Boys plays a likeable hybrid of country and bluegrass with a touch of pop sensibility. Eugene Wolf and Eddie Lynn Snodderly create some amazingly tight harmonies; they are backed only by Snodderly's guitar and a standup bass and drums a bare-bones accompaniment that gives their music a certain stark beauty, a feeling of a corn field in late November. Their stories of love and betrayal tell us nothing new; our pleasure comes from hearing them told so very well and to such beautiful music. |
