I'm a book nut always have been. We have bookcases in every room but the bathroom (and that's only because my wife insists). I was formerly the books editor of the sadly defunct North County Times newspaper in San Diego County. And I've been reviewing books for years for various outfits: The Daily Aztec (San Diego State University), The San Diego Evening-Tribune, the American Reporter.
I have links to my reviews here, and also keep a reading diary here. On the reviews, I've broken them down into fiction and nonfiction. I've also added a page of links to my interviews with authors.
My taste in books is pretty wide-open, but I particularly enjoy experimental literature, histories and popular science. Of course, I've had editors through the years with sense enough to ignore my wishes and assign me books I didn't think were worthwhile before I cracked them open.
