Possessed of one of pop's richest voices, Peabo Bryson has carved out a comfortable niche for himself on the music charts.
Bryson's most recent effort, "Positive," is selling briskly and two cuts are receiving heavy airplay. "Come on Over Tonight" is a slow funk piece, while the title track is more upbeat. Both, however, suffer from the safe, predictable blandness that has marked Bryson's career. Every song he touches could be a duet with Olivia Newton John.
"Positive" leaves the listener wondering what Bryson could do with that wonderful voice if he applied it to some challenging material.
