Don't let the name of the act fool you veteran blues vocalist Sam Myers is the star of this band. Funderburgh is a decent guitarist and a better songwriter, but it is Myers who anchors the whole shebang.
"Sins" is 40 minutes of delightfully swinging blues. "I'll Be True" is one of the prettiest love songs around, with some tasteful honky-tonk piano laid down by Matt McCabe. Mark "Kaz" Kazanoff, session player supreme, makes a rocking guest appearance on sax.
Funderburgh himself shines brightest on an excellent solo during "Changing Neighborhoods." But the highlight of the album just might be Myers' harmonica on "My Kind of Baby."
