Songwriting siblings also great singers

Whether you're a fan of great songs, beautiful vocal duets or just plain great guitar picking, it's hard to go wrong with this release.

The Moffatt siblings are best known, if at all, as songwriters, Hugh for hits he's written for Jerry Lee Lewis and Alabama; Katy, for her own melodic, introspective country ballads. But on their first collaboration, they blend their voices into some of the best harmonies this side of the Everly clan. Picking? Try Buddy Emmons on pedal steel and dobro, Albert Lee and Charles Sawtelle on guitar and Stuart Duncan on fiddle, masters all.

Highlights might be "Dance Me Outside," a love song penned by Katy and underground hero Tom Russell (the pair also co-wrote "Walking on the Moon"), or Hugh's uptempo "On the Borderline." While there probably aren't any songs here that will hit the charts, this is nevertheless a polished, balanced album of beautiful country music.
