Online San Diego

From here, you can read my old Online San Diego columns from ComputorEdge magazine. (Actually, just the ones from my second stint as columnist, beginning in January, 1997. When I originally gave the column up in 1996, I deleted all my old files to free up space on my hard drive. However, I've recently found my box of old ComputorEdges, and will begin scanning in the original batch of columns.)

Online San Diego was started in the mid- or late-'80s, when ComputorEdge was still called The Byte Byer. In 1987, Byte magazine threatened to sue if Byte Buyer didn't change their name – so ComputorEdge was born. (And, yeah, Byte IS long since gone, isn't it?)

Anyway, then-editor Dan Gookin wrote On-Line San Diego himself for awhile, I believe, before going on to "DOS For Dummies" authorhood. Jim Kimble then wrote it for awhile, and Skosch Penrose. Ron Dippold held it before me; Brad Fikes took it between my first and second bouts, and Donna Woodka was the last to have the column before it was turned into Hot on the Web.

Just click on the column you want to read from the list below. Given that this is an archive, it's entirely possible some or all of the links to reviewed Web sites no longer work. In addition, as these reviews become dated, I can't vouch for the accuracy of the BBS and Web sitereviews. To read this week's Hot on the Web (the new name for the column) on ComputorEdge's Web site, click here.
